JSW Neo Energy Secures 600 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Project in Maharashtra

JSW Neo Energy Limited (JSW Neo), a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) for a 600 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Project by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) under its Phase IV allocation. The award includes 400 MW granted under the green shoe option.

With this new project, JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity rises to 18.2 GW, which includes 3.8 GW of hybrid capacity. The company’s installed generation capacity is expected to increase to 10 GW by FY25, up from its current 7.5 GW.

JSW Energy’s overall capacity includes 7.5 GW in operation and 2.3 GW under construction, spanning wind, thermal, hydro, and a renewable energy pipeline of 8.3 GW. The company also has 4.2 GWh of energy storage capacity locked in through battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects. JSW Energy aims to reach a total generation capacity of 20 GW and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030, with a long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

This project is seen as a key step in expanding JSW Energy’s offerings and supporting its transition towards becoming a comprehensive energy products and services provider.
