A high-level delegation from several Korean energy companies, led by Sung Soo Kim Su, Senior Vice President of the Global Sae-A Group, recently visited the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to gain insights into the authority’s advancements in the clean and renewable energy sector.

The delegation toured DEWAโ€™s Sustainability and Innovation Centre and the Research and Development (R&D) Centre, located at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Parkโ€”the largest single-site solar park globally, which aims for a production capacity exceeding 5,000 megawatts by 2030.

During the visit, officials from the R&D Centre provided the delegation with an overview of DEWA’s pioneering Green Hydrogen project, the first initiative of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa. This project utilizes solar power to produce hydrogen through electrolysis and includes a storage tank capable of holding hydrogen for up to 12 hours. The facility is designed to support future applications and testing platforms for hydrogen’s various uses, including energy production and mobility.
