Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power and a leader in Indiaโs renewable energy sector, has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Indiaโs top energy company, to explore joint opportunities in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and its value chain. The MoU was signed during India Energy Week 2025, with Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Honโble Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Mr. Arun Kumar Singh, Chairman and CEO of ONGC, Mr. Deepesh Nanda, CEO & Managing Director of TPREL, and other dignitaries in attendance.
The partnership will focus on identifying commercial opportunities across various aspects of the BESS value chain, including utility-scale systems, grid stabilization services, renewable energy integration, microgrids, hybrid energy solutions, industrial and commercial storage, backup power, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and energy trading through ancillary services.
