Emmvee Expands Solar Production, Opens 5th Module Manufacturing Plant In Bengaluru

Emmvee, a prominent player in India’s solar manufacturing industry, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at Sulibele, near Bengaluru International Airport in Karnataka. This expansion adds approximately 2.0 GWp to its existing module capacity, bringing the company’s total photovoltaic module production to about 6.6 GWp and solar cell capacity to 2.5 GWp.

The newly launched unit spans nearly 400,000 square feet and is set to accommodate over 500 new employees, including engineering professionals, senior leadership, operations staff, and administrative personnel. With this addition, Emmvee’s total workforce, which already exceeds 2,000, will continue to grow.

Mr. D.V. Manjunatha, Chairman and Managing Director, said in a statement, “This is yet another step in the company’s dedication to supporting India’s renewable energy goals and achieving solar manufacturing self-reliance.”

Mr. Suhas Donthi, President and CEO of Emmvee, mentioned, “The new facility will bolster our production capacity, which will enable us to better service our customers. We are not merely increasing capacity but also enhancing our technological advancements and business operations. The unit is designed with advanced automation, multiple levels of quality control and is versatile to produce different module sizes and formats.”

This development aligns with India’s broader renewable energy goals, where solar power plays a leading role. As of now, India’s installed solar capacity stands at 105.65 GW, underscoring the nation’s growing commitment to clean, non-fossil fuel-based energy sources and the strategic importance of solar manufacturing in supporting that transition.
