NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has invited bids for the development of a 56 MW floating solar PV project combined with a 60 MW / 240 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at NTPC North Karanpura. The bidding will follow a single-stage, two-envelope processโ€”one for the techno-commercial bid and the other for the price bid.

The project aims to promote clean energy and enhance energy storage capacity. Interested and eligible bidders can access the detailed bidding documents from May 20, 2025, through the NTPC tender website, the Bharat Electronic Tender portal, or NTPCโ€™s main website. For any queries or assistance, bidders may contact the NTPC REL officials based in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The move is part of NTPCโ€™s broader push toward renewable energy solutions and technological advancement in clean power infrastructure. This project is expected to significantly contribute to the companyโ€™s renewable energy targets while improving grid stability through battery storage. The official notice was released on May 1, 2025.
