Renewance, a U.S. leader in battery lifecycle services, has teamed up with GreenPowerMonitor (GPM), a DNV company specializing in renewable energy asset monitoring, to deliver integrated energy systems control and battery lifecycle solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across North America.
The partnership combines GPM’s Energy Management System (EMS) with the RenewanceConnect platform to help utility-scale and commercial energy storage operators manage growing system complexity while extending battery life and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and recycling mandates.
The joint solution enables real-time monitoring, flags performance improvement opportunities, and triggers lifecycle services—from preventative maintenance to repurposing and recycling—through a single, streamlined interface. It also supports grid code compliance for new and existing energy storage sites, including those paired with solar. “Renewance has commissioned and serviced over 20 GWh battery systems and also decommissioned over 100 MWh of battery systems. This collaboration represents the next evolution in battery stewardship,” said Jamal Burki, CEO at Renewance. “By linking GPM’s powerful monitoring capabilities with our lifecycle services, we’re not simply collecting data – we’re proactively acting on it to drive safer, more sustainable outcomes for our customers and the planet.”
As standalone storage and hybrid PV-storage systems gain ground in the U.S. energy mix, this collaboration aims to provide asset owners with the tools and insight needed to optimize storage operations and protect long-term asset value.
