Vikram Solar Limited, a leading Indian solar manufacturer specializing in high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) solutions, announced today a strategic transition to a fully G12R-based module portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to next-generation solar technology.
Over the past decade, the global solar industry has moved toward larger-format wafers, high-efficiency N-type architectures, and bifacial designs, aimed at maximising energy yield and improving project economics. Responding to increasing demand for performance certainty, long-term reliability, and future-ready technology, Vikram Solar’s move standardises its offerings around the HYPERSOL G12R module series, a key driver for the next phase of growth in solar manufacturing.
Manufacturing scale and technological edge
Vikram Solar has expanded its module manufacturing capacity to 9.5 GW across three state-of-the-art plants in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, making it one of India’s largest solar module producers. The company said this scale provides a strong foundation to deliver consistency, quality, and reliability while standardising on the high-efficiency G12R platform.
The HYPERSOL G12R portfolio, including the 132HC and HYPERSOL PRO G12R series, delivers up to 640 Wp with efficiency of 23.69%. Its large-format rectangular design optimises container utilisation (98.5%), reducing logistics costs and improving project-level economics. The G12R series also features unidirectional current flow, minimising energy loss and maximising power generation. The portfolio is versatile, available in 96HC and 108HC formats, suitable for residential and commercial rooftop applications, and complies with IEC, UL, and BIS standards for deployment in India, the US, Europe, and Australia.
