Union Minister Shripad Yesso Naik inaugurated the ECAMEX 2026, underscoring the critical role of renewable energy expansion, solar adoption, and domestic manufacturing in shaping India’s future energy landscape.

Addressing industry stakeholders, the minister emphasized the need to accelerate the share of renewable energy in India’s overall power mix, positioning solar energy as a central pillar in achieving long-term energy security and sustainability goals. He highlighted that scaling solar deployment across utility-scale and distributed segments will be essential to meeting rising electricity demand while reducing carbon intensity.

From an industry development perspective, the minister pointed to the growing importance of strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities under the “Make in India” initiative. Expanding local production of solar modules, electrical equipment, and system components is expected to enhance supply chain resilience, reduce import dependence, and create new economic opportunities across the value chain.

The event, organized by Electrical Contractors Association of Maharashtra, serves as a strategic platform bringing together policymakers, contractors, manufacturers, and technology providers. It reflects the increasing convergence of infrastructure development, clean energy integration, and electrical system modernization.

Industry experts view such platforms as critical enablers of India’s energy transition, particularly in fostering collaboration between grassroots execution networks—such as electrical contractors—and large-scale renewable deployment strategies. This alignment is expected to play a vital role in accelerating project implementation timelines and ensuring quality standards across installations.

The discussions at ECAMEX 2026 also highlighted the evolving role of the electrical ecosystem in supporting next-generation energy systems, including smart infrastructure, distributed solar, and energy-efficient solutions. As India advances toward its clean energy targets, the integration of innovation, skilled workforce development, and localized manufacturing is expected to drive sustained sectoral growth.

Overall, the event signals a strong policy-industry alignment, reinforcing confidence in India’s trajectory toward a more resilient, self-reliant, and renewable-driven power sector.
