Power Plant Controller (ETi-PPC) Solution for Hybrid Power Plants

Power Plant Controller (ETi-PPC) Solution for Hybrid Power Plants

Plant Power Control (PPC) refers to the coordinated monitoring and control of a plant’s power generation and distribution systems to ensure operational efficiency, grid compliance, safety, and regulatory adherence. EnerMAN’s ETi-PPC is specifically engineered to achieve these objectives with high precision by maintaining stable voltage, frequency, and load distribution—critical parameters for reliable and efficient plant operation. Unlike conventional control systems, ETi-PPC provides intelligent, automated, and schedule-based control capabilities that extend beyond basic power management. Through accurate Active Power, Reactive Power, and Power Factor regulation, the system ensures compliance with utility and electricity board requirements while minimizing energy losses and maintaining optimal power quality.

The ETi-PPC delivers real-time grid-level voltage stabilization, reducing fluctuations that may otherwise lead to equipment stress, operational interruptions, or grid penalties. Its autonomous and reliable operation, especially during unmanned plant conditions, ensures continuous compliance, operational stability, and enhanced system reliability.

For solar power plant operations, EnerMAN’s ETi-PPC acts as a centralized control platform by providing precise control commands, live operational status, automated corrective actions, and intelligent coordination between plant equipment. The system also maintains detailed control logs and historical operational data for monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, and compliance reporting purposes. Designed in alignment with IEC 62443 cybersecurity standards for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT), EnerMAN’s ETi-PPC incorporates a secure Hybrid PPC architecture capable of managing solar generation in coordination with other renewable energy sources. The controller supports multiple operational methodologies, including Ramp Power Control for smooth power transitions, Scheduled Power Control for predefined generation profiles, and SLDC Write/Read functionality for direct interaction with the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC), ensuring precise and grid-compliant operation.

In modern inverter-based solar plants, ETi-PPC plays a critical role in maintaining high-quality grid interaction and statutory compliance. Advanced Power Factor (PF) Control functionality dynamically regulates inverter outputs by adjusting the phase relationship between voltage and current, thereby reducing electrical losses and improving system efficiency. In addition, Reactive Power Compensation enables the inverters to inject or absorb reactive power dynamically to maintain voltage stability, minimize transmission losses, and support weak or fluctuating grid conditions. With advanced control algorithms for Active and Reactive Power management, automated scheduling, remote operability, intelligent fault-handling logic, and comprehensive historical logging capabilities, EnerMAN’s ETi-PPC ensures secure, efficient, and fully compliant plant operation while improving energy utilization, reducing operational costs, and supporting long-term sustainability objectives across renewable energy facilities.
