Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has appointed Shri Javvadi V.N. Subramanyam, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), as Government Nominee Director on its Board with effect from July 24, 2026. The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors in accordance with an MNRE order dated July 23, 2026.
According to the regulatory filing, Subramanyam will serve as Government Nominee Director until the three vacant Functional Director positions on the IREDA Board are filled or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The company also confirmed that, based on his declaration, he is not debarred from holding the office of director by any order issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority.
Subramanyam is a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with more than 18 years of experience across the Central and State governments in renewable energy, public financial management, industrial and infrastructure development, health systems, and governance reforms. He currently serves as Joint Secretary at MNRE, contributing to India’s renewable energy initiatives.
Prior to his current role, he served as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance, where he handled financial market policy and international economic engagements. His previous assignments also include leadership positions such as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (APIIC), Commissioner of Industries, Chief Executive Officer of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, Mission Director of the National Health Mission in Assam, and Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Goalpara, Assam.
A Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant who secured the All India First Rank, Subramanyam holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, a Master of Public Policy, and a Chevening Gurukul Fellowship in Leadership from King’s College London. He has received several national and state-level awards for excellence in public service, governance, innovation, and public health administration.
