Indian equity markets closed higher, but green energy and related industrial stocks witnessed mixed performance as investors remained selective across the sector. The S&P BSE SENSEX gained 0.56% to close at 72,312.23, while the NSE Nifty 50 advanced 0.51% to finish at 22,535.45.
Kabra Extrusion emerged as the strongest gainer among the tracked green energy and industrial stocks. The company rose nearly 5% on the BSE to ₹800 and gained 4.06% on the NSE to ₹796.40. Reliance Industries also supported market sentiment, increasing 1.95% on the BSE to ₹1,188.75 and 1.81% on the NSE to ₹1,188.80.
Larsen & Toubro gained more than 1.2% on both exchanges, trading around ₹3,733. JSW Energy also remained positive, rising 0.65% on the BSE to ₹488.15 and nearly 1% on the NSE to ₹489.75. Tata Power posted a modest gain, moving above ₹350.80, while Praj Industries edged higher to above ₹304.
However, several renewable energy and clean-tech stocks faced selling pressure. EKI Energy Services declined 5%, while Insolation Energy fell 3.62% on the BSE to ₹83.62 and 4.24% on the NSE to ₹83.33. GAIL declined more than 2% on both exchanges, ending near ₹167.
Indian Energy Exchange fell around 1.8% to ₹104.10, while Olectra Greentech declined between 1.5% and 1.7%, closing at ₹1,077.80 on the BSE and ₹1,080.20 on the NSE. Inox Wind also lost more than 1% on both exchanges to finish near ₹67.85. Borosil Renewables declined 1.37% on the BSE to ₹444.05.
Battery manufacturers Exide Industries and Amara Raja Energy & Mobility also ended lower, falling around 0.5% to 1%. NTPC Green Energy declined more than 1% to around ₹90.
Adani Green Energy showed a mixed trend, declining on the BSE to ₹1,281 while gaining 0.46% on the NSE to ₹1,282. Overall, the session highlighted stock-specific movements despite the broader market’s positive performance.
