UAE Shows Interest In Investing In Bangladesh’s Renewable Energy Sector

During a recent meeting between UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence, Ganabhaban, the United Arab Emirates expressed keen interest in investing in Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector.

Dr Ahmed, Chairman of ‘Masdar’ and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), revealed plans to send two teams to Bangladesh to discuss renewable energy and explore business opportunities.

The UAE, emphasizing their commitment to sustainability, seeks a positive impact from the upcoming COP28, with Dr Ahmed serving as the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change and President-Designate for the conference.

Prime Minister Hasina praised the significance of COP28, which will involve a global assessment of the progress made in implementing the Paris Agreement and urged support to accelerate climate actions worldwide in order to maintain the 1.5-degree temperature target.
