In a groundbreaking initiative, Quant Solar Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a pioneering clean-tech startup nurtured at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), has emerged as a frontrunner in introducing Floating Solar Technology within the country. The startup, incubated at IIT Guwahati’s Technology Incubation Centre (IITG-TIC), has marked significant advancements in renewable energy solutions.

Floating Solar Plants, recognized as the third dimension in solar installations alongside Rooftop and Ground Mounted solar, have gained momentum as a sustainable means of harnessing solar energy while conserving water bodies. By deploying these plants on dams and reservoirs, Quant Solar has demonstrated the capacity to curtail evaporation loss by an impressive 70%. Notably, these installations seamlessly integrate into existing reservoirs, contributing efficiently to national solar targets and leaving zero footprint upon completion of the project lifecycle.

Co-Founder & Director of Quant Solar Technologies, Mr. Pankaj Kumar, highlighted the transformative potential, emphasizing the startup’s dual focus on clean energy generation and water conservation.
