Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has officially initiated the domestic competitive public bidding process, inviting bids for the selection of an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for a significant solar project in Maharashtra. The project involves the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and operation & maintenance of a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) power plant with a capacity of 7MW/9.8MWp. HPCL is also offering suitable land on lease for the project, including the laying of a Transmission Line for power evacuation within the state of Maharashtra.
HPCL plans to issue two separate purchase orders for this venture. The first purchase order will cover the EPC services for the solar power plant, while the second will be dedicated to a Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (COMC) for the operation & maintenance of the plant over a ten-year period.
The bidding deadline for interested parties is set for January 8, 2024. The solar power generated from this project will be utilized at 15-20 HPCL marketing locations in Maharashtra through captive consumption via open access.
The comprehensive scope of work includes the provision of suitable land on a lease basis, design, engineering, supply, procurement, construction, testing, operation and maintenance, transmission line laying, installation of metering installations, and more. The project’s defect liability period is 12 months from the commissioning date, with all activities to be executed in accordance with the technical specifications outlined in the tender document. Bidders are also required to provide two PV syst subscriptions to HPCL for one year to monitor the solar plant’s performance under various conditions. This ambitious project marks HPCL’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and contributes to the growing solar landscape in Maharashtra.
