Trilantic Europe, a prominent private equity firm focusing on the energy transition, has successfully acquired a 60% stake in AEROCOMPACT Group, a leading provider of solar mounting solutions. This strategic investment aims to bolster AEROCOMPACT’s international expansion efforts and enhance its position as a key player in the global solar industry. Founder Mathias Muther will retain a significant 40% ownership through his private foundation, ensuring continued alignment with the company’s vision and values.
AEROCOMPACT, headquartered in Vorarlberg, Austria, has already established a strong presence in over 60 countries worldwide, reflecting its commitment to advancing the energy transition. With Trilantic Europe’s backing, the company plans to accelerate its growth trajectory and explore potential acquisitions to further strengthen its market position.
Mathias Muther expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the vast potential for growth inherent in AEROCOMPACT’s products and services. The involvement of Trilantic Europe, renowned for its expertise in both renewable energy and capital markets, is expected to provide invaluable support in realizing AEROCOMPACT’s ambitious expansion goals.
Vittorio Pignatti-Morano, Chairman of Trilantic Europe, underscored the impressive qualities of AEROCOMPACT’s offerings and its demonstrated growth momentum across diverse markets. He expressed confidence in the partnership’s ability to foster even greater success, ultimately positioning AEROCOMPACT as a global leader in the solar mounting sector while upholding sustainability commitments.
The transaction is pending approval from relevant regulatory authorities and was facilitated by advisory support from investment bank William Blair and Austrian corporate finance boutique Turnkey Finance for AEROCOMPACT, while Trilantic Europe received guidance from Lazard.
Despite recent challenges in the solar industry, AEROCOMPACT remains on a trajectory of robust growth, surpassing EUR 100 million in revenues for the first time in 2023. The company is poised for continued expansion, with plans for capacity enhancements at various locations, including the relocation of its Vienna site to the Ares Tower and the establishment of a new office and training center in Satteins, Austria. Additionally, production capacity for PV substructures has been increased with the launch of a new facility in Bulgaria, reflecting AEROCOMPACT’s commitment to meeting growing market demand.
