In a significant move to enhance its renewable energy capabilities, the Electricity Department of Daman has issued a tender for the expansion of solar power facilities in Diu. This ambitious project aims to increase the capacity of an existing 6 MWp Solar PV plant by 2.56 MWp and another 3 MWp Solar PV Plant by 4.91 MWp, bringing a substantial boost to the region’s solar energy production. The tender, valued at โน34 crore, encompasses not only the installation work but also the operation and maintenance of the plants as specified in the tender documents.
The tender was officially released on 15th February 2024, with the bidding process set to close on 27th February 2024. Prospective bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of โน50 lakh through a Bank Guarantee or Fixed Deposit, as a demonstration of their commitment and seriousness about the project. The EMD is payable to the Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department of Daman.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 22nd February 2024 at the office of the Executive Engineer, Electricity Department Daman, located at the 220/66 KV Magarwada Substation in Moti Daman. This meeting will offer potential bidders an opportunity to seek clarifications and understand the project requirements in detail.
The tender process is meticulously structured, with the technical bids set to be opened on 27th February 2024, followed by the price bid opening on 5th March 2024. This systematic approach ensures transparency and fairness in the selection process. The project not only aims to augment Diu’s solar energy production but also signifies a step towards sustainable and green energy solutions in the region.
