Thailand’s PRIME Inks 25-Year Solar Power Deal: 15.70 MW Capacity With Provincial Electricity Authority

In a significant move towards advancing clean energy initiatives, Prime Road Power Public Company Limited (PRIME), a prominent player in the clean energy sector led by Mr Somprasong Panjalak, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, has disclosed a groundbreaking development.

PRIME’s subsidiaries, holding an impressive 99.99% of shares, finalized Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). This strategic collaboration spans a duration of 25 years and is aimed at developing two state-of-the-art ground-mounted solar power projects, commonly referred to as solar farms, boasting a combined electricity capacity of 15.70 megawatts.

1. PR Pak Phanang 1 Company Limited:

• Electricity Offered for Sale: 5.70 Megawatts
• Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD): 2030

1. PR Hua Sai Company Limited:

• Electricity Offered for Sale: 10.00 Megawatts
• Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD): 2030

Key Highlights:

• The solar farm projects are equipped with a Feed-in Tariff (FiT) electricity sales rate of THB2.1679 per kilowatt-hour.
• Both projects aim to contribute significantly to Thailand’s renewable energy capacity.

Future Prospects:

• Utility Business Team Leaders have indicated that the two solar farms will integrate the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a collective capacity of 72.26 megawatts.
• The company plans to gradually finalize contracts for these innovative projects and will provide updates on progress as developments unfold.
