During their recent visit to Germany, an Omani delegation, led by Eng Salim bin Nasser al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, toured Siemens Energy’s facilities in Berlin, highlighting the company’s role as a crucial partner in Oman’s energy transition.
The delegation included key figures such as Pankaj Khimji, Adviser for External Trade and International Cooperation, and Dr Firas al Abduwani, Director-General of Renewable Energy and Hydrogen.
Jens Klingemann, Vice President of Sales Operations at Siemens Energy, expressed optimism about potential collaborations in renewable energy and green hydrogen production.
Siemens Energy, known for its gas turbines and power transmission systems, has been aiding Oman in adopting emerging technologies for its green hydrogen industry.
The Berlin facility, launched last year, specializes in electrolyser modules, with plans to increase production capacity to 3 gigawatts by 2025.
Klingemann emphasized Siemens Energy’s alignment with Oman Vision 2040 and its commitment to fostering collaboration between Germany and Oman in renewable energy and green hydrogen.
