The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI), a Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) operating under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has formalized a strategic partnership with the Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI). Both organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at accelerating the implementation of Renewable Energy (RE) projects both domestically and internationally.
The primary goal of the MoU is to enhance resource optimization and expedite the execution of RE projects, aligning with the Government of India’s ambitious target of achieving 500 gigawatts (GW) of non-fossil energy by 2030. This collaboration is designed to bolster the efficiency and speed of RE project development, thus supporting the countryโs clean energy objectives.
Key aspects of the MoU include:
- Research and Development: Joint efforts to advance research and innovative technologies in the renewable energy sector.
- International Cooperation: Expanding business development opportunities and fostering global partnerships for RE projects.
- Land Identification: Collaborating on locating and securing land for the establishment of RE projects.
- Net Zero Initiatives: Supporting various initiatives aimed at achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both SECI and GERMI, marking a significant step in strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure and international collaboration in the sector.
