Yemen Expands Solar Energy Use With New Water Pumping Facility In Maqbanah

Taiz Governor’s Undersecretary for Development and Services, Abdul-Wasie Al-Shamsi, and Osama Al-Qatabri, Director of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs, inaugurated the Al-Ikhlud water pumping project in Maqbanah District on Wednesday.

This project, implemented in collaboration with the Humanitarian Affairs Council and funded by the European Union, is part of the broader initiative to strengthen institutional and economic resilience in Yemen.

During the inauguration, attended by District Director Mohammed Al-Khalidi, the Undersecretary highlighted the significance of using solar energy for water pumping. He emphasized that such projects help meet citizens’ needs for clean water at minimal costs and expressed a commitment to expanding these initiatives.
