In a move aimed at strengthening India–Africa energy cooperation, NTPC Limited held high-level discussions with Africa50 to explore collaborative opportunities across the African power sector.
The meeting, led by NTPC’s Chairman and Managing Director, took place with Alain Ebobisse and focused on expanding joint development of power projects across Africa. Key areas of discussion included investments spanning coal, gas, solar, wind, and floating solar, reflecting a diversified approach to energy development in emerging markets.
Both sides also deliberated on opportunities to facilitate cross-border power trading across the African continent, alongside exploring the potential for a comprehensive framework agreement to formalise long-term collaboration in the energy sector.
The engagement builds on earlier discussions led by the Ministry of Power, where the Hon’ble Power Minister emphasised strengthening India–Africa cooperation in the power sector.
Notably, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 at Yashobhoomi, a flagship global platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and energy stakeholders.
The latest engagement underscores NTPC’s growing focus on international expansion and strategic partnerships, reinforcing its commitment to supporting sustainable, reliable, and diversified energy development across Africa.
