Minister Of EWA Of Bahrain Meets UNDP Representative To Discuss Energy Corporation

H.E Eng Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, met H.E Ms. Aikan Mukanbetova, acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, through visual communication technology, as part of strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs and the United Nations Development Programme.

During the meeting, the Minister praised the important role played by the program to promote cooperation and integration at various levels of development that contributes to strengthening the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Throughout the meeting, their Excellencies discussed joint cooperation with UNDP is in line with the ministry’s plans and development initiatives to praise efforts within the development and sustainability of energy resources and diversification.

H.E Ms. Aikan Mukanbetova Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program, praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain that showed continuous attention to sustainable development, particularly the axis and diversification of energy sources, which constitutes a real and supportive national policy translation of global efforts on sustainable development goals. H.E expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the team holding the program in the Ministry to achieve success and develop the sustainable energy sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.​

Recently, 5 more schools in Bahrain got solar panels in the first phase of a new solar project launched by Education Minister Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi and Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Wael Al Mubarak. Both the ministers were visiting the National Charter Preparatory School for Boys.

Also, Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) of Bahrain plans to develop a 5 MW solar photovoltaic project across 14 buildings and car parking for the Ministry of Education of Bahrain. It receives proposals from four different developers.
