The recent surge in activity in the solar industry, driven by new schemes and policies, positions this partnership to capitalize on upcoming opportunities. Sunview’s collaboration with UOB is seen as strategic, reinforcing its position in the solar industry.

Sunview initially established its banking relationship with UOB Malaysia when it secured financing for two solar PV development projects under the government’s LSS contracts in Pendang, Kedah, and Kuala Langat, Selangor. By becoming a part of U-Solar’s ecosystem of partners, Sunview anticipates better payment terms with approved equipment suppliers and access to green financing, streamlining its financial supply chain management.

Beh Wee Khee, Managing Director and Country Head of Commercial Banking at UOB Malaysia expressed satisfaction in expanding their relationship with Sunview as the 10th EPCC partner in the U-Solar program. This expansion aims to address cash flow and working capital challenges faced by developers and contractors, particularly in terms of longer project receivable terms and shorter payment terms from equipment suppliers. The partnership with Sunview will enable them to finance equipment purchases and work on multiple solar projects concurrently, accelerating the adoption of solar energy in the country towards achieving net-zero ambitions.
