SJVN Requests Bids to Purchase Land in Punjab for 200 MW Solar Projects

A SJVN subsidiary called SJVN Green Energy is looking for bids to buy or lease 1,000 acres of land in Punjab for a period of 28 years to build a 200 MW solar power project.

Bids can only be submitted until December 20, 2023. The day the bids are to be opened is the same.

Bidders are required to submit a bid document cost of ₹5,900.

Participants are allowed to suggest several lands lots totaling no more than 1,000 acres.

Up to a maximum of 1,000 acres, each linked land parcel should be either 250 acres or multiples of 250 acres. Further, land parcels with a combined area of less than 250 acres will not be taken into consideration.

The property must have all required statutory clearances and have perimeter chain-link fencing. To establish the solar power projects, the successful bidder should make connections with the State Transmission Utility easier.

The following earnest money deposit is required of bidders:

  • ₹500,000 for 250 acres
  • ₹1 million for 500 acres
  • ₹1.5 million for 750 acres
  • For more than 1,000 acres, ₹2 million.

The land might be situated within a solar park, allowing SJVN Green Energy to acquire it outright in accordance with the rules and regulations governing solar parks.

A minimum of 1,650 kWh/m2 of annual global horizontal irradiance should be present on the land.

To participate in tender bidding, bidders must have ownership or an Agreement to Sell for at least 20% of the offered land parcel at the time of bid submission. This agreement will be in effect for a minimum of three months following the date of the bid submission.

The property cannot be found inside or outside of any restricted area or defense installation that protects wildlife. Government regulations shouldn’t prevent the development of a solar energy project on the suggested property.

Moreover, the State Transmission Utility (STU) Grid Sub-Station (GSS) should not be more than 15 kilometers away from the nearest portion of the land. A minimum Estimated Spare Capacity of 200 MW for 1,000 acres, 150 MW for 750 acres, 100 MW for 500 acres, and 50 MW for 250 acres should be available for the STU GSS.

The land must be in one cohesive patch and be reachable by a road that is suitable for motor vehicles.
