Yara Clean Ammonia, the world’s leading ammonia trader and distributor, and Greenko ZeroC, the green ammonia production arm of India-based AM Green, have inked a term sheet for the supply of renewable ammonia from Phase 1 of AM Green’s ammonia production facility in Kakinada, India.
The term sheet, along with the subsequent offtake agreement, will cover the long-term supply of up to 50% of renewable ammonia from Phase 1 of AM Green’s facility in Kakinada. This facility is slated to produce and export renewable ammonia derived from round-the-clock carbon-free energy by 2027.
The renewable ammonia and other sustainable fuels from AM Green’s platform will adhere to EU RFNBO and Renewable Energy Directive requirements. For Yara Clean Ammonia, this supply of renewable ammonia will play a crucial role in producing low-emission fertilizer and facilitating the decarbonization of various industries, including shipping, power generation, and others.

He highlighted AM Green’s commitment to innovation and execution, reinforcing its position as a global leader in clean energy transition solutions.
Mr. Hans Olav Raen, CEO of Yara Clean Ammonia, highlighted the significance of the AM Green Kakinada project in expanding their portfolio of renewable energy-produced ammonia. He stressed the importance of this project in establishing Yara Clean Ammonia as a reliable supplier of low-emission ammonia for diverse applications, including fertilizer production, hydrogen generation, shipping fuel, power generation, and industrial processes.
