LONGi Middle East and Muscat Green Energy (MGE) successfully hosted a workshop on September 18, 2024, during the third edition of the IEEE PowerTalks conference. The workshop, titled “Driving Oman’s RE2040 Vision, LONGi and Muscat Green Energy Innovation,” took place at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre and aimed to support Oman’s Renewable Energy 2040 (RE2040) vision through innovative solar energy solutions and strategic partnerships.
In collaboration with the IEEE Conference, the workshop brought together key stakeholders from the energy sector, policymakers, and industry professionals. The primary goal was to highlight the latest advancements in solar technology and foster discussions on how solar energy can help Oman achieve its ambitious sustainability goals under the RE2040 framework.
The event opened with presentations from both LONGi and MGE, showcasing cutting-edge solar energy solutions tailored to Oman’s unique energy landscape. LONGi’s presentation, “The Future of Solar Energy in Oman,” focused on the company’s pioneering technologies and their potential impact on the country’s renewable energy sector. MGE followed with its insights into “Innovative Energy Solutions in Oman,” outlining the company’s contributions to advancing the nation’s transition to a more sustainable energy future.
During the workshop, several key themes emerged, particularly the vital role of solar energy in driving Oman’s RE2040 targets. Participants explored the challenges and opportunities within the country’s renewable energy landscape, stressing the increasing significance of solar power in shaping Oman’s sustainable future. Discussions further examined cooperative approaches crucial to advancing Oman’s energy transition, with a strong focus on cross-industry partnerships and public-private collaboration. The dialogue emphasized that aligning industry stakeholders will be pivotal in fostering innovation, ensuring policy coherence, and achieving long-term sustainability goals in Oman’s energy sector.
The workshop concluded with a roundtable discussion involving representatives from LONGi, MGE and IEEE. This interactive session focused on identifying opportunities and overcoming challenges in the solar energy sector, reaffirming the commitment of both companies to play a leading role in supporting Oman’s renewable energy vision.
