Aboitiz Upgrade Solar Inc. (AUSI), the joint venture between AboitizPowerโ€™s distributed renewables arm and Upgrade Energy Philippines, has entered into an agreement with TDK Philippines Corp. (TPC) to install a 5.65-megawatt-peak (MWp) rooftop solar system across two of TDKโ€™s manufacturing facilities in Biรฑan, Laguna.

The project will feature over 9,000 solar panels, generating approximately 8 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy annually. This initiative aligns with TDKโ€™s commitment to integrating sustainability within its manufacturing operations.

UGEP Chief Operating Officer Pieterjan Vanbuggenhout said the partnership highlights the potential of rooftop solar solutions to deliver both environmental and business benefits.

โ€œThrough this collaboration with TPC, we are proving that rooftop solar solutions can deliver both environmental responsibility and business performance to critical industries at scale,โ€ he stated.

AboitizPower Vice President for Retail Energy Sales, Solutions, and Services, Gina Camacho-David, emphasized the alignment of both companiesโ€™ sustainability goals.

โ€œOur philosophy of โ€˜Always-on Innovationโ€™ is aligned with TDKโ€™s values of strategic vision, courage, and trust,โ€ she noted. โ€œWe are proud to help contribute to the โ€˜TDK Transformationโ€™ and accelerate progress for a sustainable future.โ€
