Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Pvt. Ltd. has announced the launch of a biomass-based boiler plant as part of its Phase 2 expansion in Gujarat, aimed at reducing approximately 81,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually while advancing circular economy practices and supporting rural supply chains.
The Phase 2 facility is designed to operate entirely on biomass fuel, reinforcing the company’s strategy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and scale the adoption of biomass-based energy across its operations. By strengthening biomass utilisation in boiler systems, Vihaan is also addressing fuel price volatility and enhancing operational resilience. The initiative aligns with the broader Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, with the company collaborating alongside HyFun Foods to support rural economies.
The project leverages advanced biomass boiler technology that utilises agricultural residue as fuel, enabling efficient waste-to-energy conversion while ensuring consistent steam generation. This approach contributes to a more sustainable and reliable industrial energy framework, particularly at a time when global energy markets are facing disruptions due to geopolitical tensions and supply chain constraints.
To enhance system efficiency and performance, Vihaan has partnered with technology providers including Thermax and TOESL, integrating global standards into its biomass boiler operations.
Commenting on the development, Amit Badlani said the milestone reflects the company’s commitment to building resilient and future-ready industrial systems. He noted that the focus remains on developing locally relevant solutions that enhance reliability and sustainability, with potential for replication across industrial clusters in India.
As part of its expansion, Vihaan continues to promote energy self-reliance by reducing reliance on imported fuels and increasing the use of locally available biomass resources, signalling progress toward a cleaner and more resilient industrial ecosystem.
About the Company
Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Pvt. Ltd. operates one of India’s advanced Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP) for the food processing sector, located near the Fanidhar Mega Food Park. The facility has a planned total treatment capacity of 10 million litres per day, implemented in three phases, and adheres to Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) standards, enabling wastewater to be treated to potable quality and reused.
In addition to water treatment, the company is developing a centralised high-efficiency steam boiler system in phases. The first phase, with a capacity of 40 TPH, has been commissioned, while the second phase will add 60 TPH capacity to meet growing industrial demand. Designed to operate under variable load conditions, the system replaces multiple individual boilers, reducing both operational costs and emissions.
Through its integrated approach to water, energy, and waste management, Vihaan aims to deliver measurable environmental impact by conserving freshwater resources, lowering industrial carbon emissions, and enhancing regulatory compliance across participating industries.
