NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has invited bids for a large solar power project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The company has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the Balance of System (BOS) package to develop 1200 MW of grid-connected solar PV capacity. This project is divided into three parts, including two units of 450 MW each and one unit of 300 MW.

The scope of work is wide and covers almost all activities needed to build and complete the solar plants, except the supply of solar modules. The selected bidders will handle design, engineering, and full execution of the project. This includes site preparation work such as land grading, topographical surveys, and geotechnical studies. The contractors will also install module mounting structures with tracker systems, which help improve power generation by following the sunโ€™s movement.

In addition, bidders will be responsible for installing power conditioning units and carrying out all required electrical and civil works. These systems will connect the solar plants to the 33kV grid. The project is being funded through NTPC RELโ€™s own funds along with borrowings, showing strong financial backing for timely execution.

The contract also includes operation and maintenance services for three years after the project is fully commissioned. This ensures that the plants run efficiently during the initial years of operation and helps maintain performance standards.

NTPC REL has also shared a clear schedule for the bidding process. The IFB was issued on May 4, 2026. Interested companies can download the bidding documents between May 11 and May 22, 2026. A pre-bid meeting will be held on May 25, 2026, where bidders can raise queries. The last date for bid submission is June 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened the same day at 2:30 PM. The date for price bid opening and reverse auction will be announced later.

The bid security amount depends on the capacity applied for. For the 300 MW block, bidders need to submit INR 5 crore. For each 450 MW block, the amount is INR 10 crore. For larger capacities like 750 MW, 900 MW, or 1200 MW, the security requirement goes up to INR 20 crore. Any bid without the required security will be rejected.

Interested bidders must register on the ETS portal and submit a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement to access the documents. Only those who download the official documents from the portal will be allowed to participate in the bidding process.
