Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Affairs, Kamel al-Wazir, and U.S. Ambassador Hero Mostafa met on Tuesday to explore opportunities for increasing American investments in Egyptโs burgeoning green industries. The discussion focused on several key sectors, including new and renewable energy, green hydrogen, solar cell and wind turbine manufacturing, as well as locomotives and automotive production.
During the meeting, Wazir, who also serves as Minister of Industry and Energy, emphasized Egyptโs strategic position as a potential export hub for Arab and African markets. He highlighted the countryโs ongoing development of 31 dry ports and logistics zones, which are strategically connected to railways, major roads, and seaports, enhancing its role as a logistical and industrial center.
Looking ahead, the two nations are preparing for a national dialogue in September, which will be followed by meetings of the joint economic committee. These forthcoming discussions are expected to lead to the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to formalize partnerships across various economic sectors.
The collaborative efforts between Egypt and the U.S. are aimed at fostering economic growth and advancing green technologies, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable development and increased bilateral investment.
