Apple Inc. has announced a series of new environmental initiatives in India, including an investment of INR 100 crore to support renewable energy capacity development through a strategic partnership with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited, India’s largest renewable energy solutions provider for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.

The initiatives form part of Apple’s broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire footprint by 2030 while expanding India’s clean energy ecosystem. The partnership with CleanMax is aimed at accelerating decarbonization in India’s C&I segment through scaled renewable energy deployment and long-term clean infrastructure investments.

Apple said the collaboration builds on an earlier co-investment partnership supporting the company’s India operations. The latest investment is expected to help expand renewable energy capacity while supporting corporate clean energy adoption in one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy markets.

“At Apple, our commitment to the environment is also a driving force for innovation — across the company and around the world,” said Sarah Chandler. “We’re proud to expand our efforts to invest in India’s clean energy economy and protect the country’s precious natural resources.”

Commenting on the expanded partnership, Kuldeep Jain said, “We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Apple yet again. At CleanMax, we see ourselves as a long-term net-zero partner to corporates, and we are proud to continue working with a company like Apple that continues to push the ecosystem to think bigger, move faster, and build more responsibly.”

The announcement comes amid rising corporate demand for renewable energy in India, with strategic co-investment models increasingly driving the deployment of large-scale clean energy infrastructure for industrial consumers.
