Power Factors, a software, services, and hardware provider for renewable energy management, has announced a new minority investment from Mubadala Investment Company. The Abu Dhabi-based global investor joins existing investor Vista Equity Partners as a significant minority stakeholder in the company.
According to Power Factors, the investment will support its continued growth, global expansion, and advancement of its AI-driven renewable energy management solutions. The company said the funding will accelerate development of its Unity Renewable Energy Management Suite, particularly its Unity REMI (Renewable Energy Management Intelligence) platform, which uses advanced intelligence and optimization capabilities to improve performance and returns across renewable energy portfolios.
Power Factors CEO Julieann Esper Rainville said the company aims to build a unified, intelligent platform capable of managing increasingly large and complex renewable energy portfolios. She added that the partnership with Mubadala will help strengthen its mission to deliver AI-enabled solutions for the global renewable energy sector.
Mubadala’s Head of Energy and Sustainability, Private Equity, Abdulla Mohamed Shadid, said the investment reflects the firm’s long-term commitment to the energy transition and the growing importance of software-driven solutions in managing renewable assets. He noted that as renewable portfolios scale, intelligent monitoring and optimization tools are becoming essential for maximizing performance and value.
Vista Equity Partners said it welcomes Mubadala as a partner and highlighted Power Factors’ growing role in enabling renewable energy operators to manage large-scale portfolios more efficiently.
Power Factors currently supports operations across more than 70 countries, serving over 600 customers and managing approximately 310 gigawatts of solar, wind, and energy storage assets.
