BREDA Extends Bid Deadline for 500 MW Rooftop Solar Project Across Bihar

The Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) has extended the bid submission timeline for its 500 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project proposed for government buildings across Bihar. The project will be implemented under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model, under which selected Solar Power Developers (SPDs) will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the rooftop solar systems.

As per the revised tender notification, RFP No. BREDA/TENDER/GCRTPV/GOVT. BUILDINGS/RESCO/04/2026-27, the online sale of tender documents started on September 10, 2026. BREDA has scheduled a pre-bid meeting on September 18, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Akshay Urja Bhawan in Patna. The meeting will allow prospective bidders to seek clarification on the tender requirements.

Under the revised schedule, interested bidders can submit their bids online until 2:00 PM on October 5, 2026. Physical submission of required documents, including the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD), tender fees, processing fees, and an undertaking confirming that the bidder has not been blacklisted, must also be completed by 2:30 PM on October 5.

BREDA will begin the techno-commercial evaluation of the submitted bids from 3:30 PM on the same day. The financial bids of technically qualified bidders will be opened at a later date, with the schedule to be communicated through email.

The 500 MW rooftop solar programme is aimed at increasing renewable energy deployment across government buildings in Bihar while supporting the state’s clean energy transition. Under the RESCO model, developers will undertake the required project development and long-term operation and maintenance activities.

BREDA has advised prospective bidders to regularly monitor the Bihar e-procurement portal and its official website for further updates, clarifications, and changes related to the tender.
